Barker Spring Fair

Great fun for all of the family

Despite the huge quantity of rain in the preceding weeks, the Barker Spring Fair went off without a hitch on Saturday afternoon. Hurredly moved off Bowan and Phipps fields which were still too wet to cope with the numbers of people, the bulk of the action took place on Rosewood Oval and the rest of the fair was located around the junior school quadrangle.

Barker FairA huge number of fairground rides were on offer and then there were stalls of local produce surrounding a concert stage which held various orchestral performances.

Down at the Junior School, the Multi-Purpose Hall had book, cake and produce stalls. Outside there was more music, a cafe to relax and continuous games of basketball.

There something for everyone, from football shooting games, fairground rides, food, stalls, and books. There were things to do and things to watch. Things for adults and loads of stuff for kids.

Held every two years, the Barker Spring Fair is an enormous undertaking by the wider members of the Barker community.
