Based on Sydney’s North Shore, Club Turramurra is a non-denominational friendship club for single men and women over 50. The Club was established in 1978 with a view to initiating social activities, developing friendships and contributing to the life of the community.
Thirty-five years later, while the type of activity has become less formal (outings, dinners, rock and roll classes rather than formal dinner dances) those ideals still remain the primary objectives of Club T.
Club Turramurra is not a dating club and while some members have met their life partners at our meetings, this has been by accident rather than design. Many more of our members have forged friendships that have endured over the years.
Our programs, which are published in a bi – monthly newsletter, are designed to appeal to the wide variety of tastes and interests of our members and regularly include:
Theatre Subscriptions to Glen St Theatre and Pymble Players
Restaurant dining and home cooked meals
Walks and sightseeing
Movies and lunches
Visits to Festivals
Arts related activities (Sculpture by the Sea, Arcadian Artists, Concerts)
Activities are usually centred in and around the city and suburbs. In addition, there is a monthly general meeting, which takes place at Turramurra and features a guest speaker followed by further opportunities for members to socialise.
