At HHFC we aim to have a consistent playing philosophy across all ages and grades. HHFC teams and players are characterised by a “Team First” approach where no individual is more important than the collective needs and goals of the team and the club.
Our players are characterised by having a strong work ethic and a never say die attitude. A HHFC player never gives up. We play proactive attacking football. Our playing style is to dominate games by maintaining effective possession using thoughtful, deliberate and shorter passes.
Hornsby RSL Football Club was established in November 1969 to provide a path for players from the Youth Soccer Club into Senior Football. We cater for players Men and Women aged 18 and over.
The Hornsby RSL All Age soccer club was established in November 1969 so that members of the RSL youth club could graduate into the senior ranks. In its initial season, 1970, the soccer club competed in the Ku-ring-gai District Soccer Association (KDSA) and was successful in winning the Division 2 competition that year.
After being promoted to Division 1 in 1971 the Soccer Club continued to play attractive and entertaining soccer resulting in winning the KDSA cup in 1972. The club also won a combined RSL Club’s Gala Day competition in 1973. During the mid 1970’s, Hornsby RSL Soccer Club was a great supporter of the Ku-ring-gai Districts Representative Teams and in one season there was a total of 9 ex-RSL players in the districts first grade squad.
