Spring has sprung!

Spring is finally showing itself. The weather looks like it will okay on Saturday and sunny on Sunday. It’s a very busy time of year with lots of interesting things going on across the region, so here is our pick of five great things to do this weekend.


Barker Spring Fair

Barker CollegeBarker College has its bi-annual Spring Fair this weekend. The Barker College campus will come alive with music, food and festivities at the popular Barker College Spring Fair to be held on Saturday, 13 September between 10am and 4pm. This event will be the largest in the school’s history, and will appeal to every member of the family.

Held every two years, this is a fun event that will appeal to all and should not be missed. Everyone across the region is invited. Entry is free and there is a small fee for the fairground rides.

 Pymble Ladies College Garden Party

Pymble Ladies College Garden PartyAll members of the wider community are invited to Pymble’s annual Garden Party on Saturday 13 September from 10.00am to 3.00pm in the College grounds.

Garden Party is the biggest and most exciting event in the Pymble Ladies College calendar.

With fabulous food, coffee, entertainment, rides, games, product, craft, art, plants, gifts, books and much more – there is certainly something for everyone.

Colourful Taiwan

Colourful TaiwanAs part of the Willoughby Spring Festival, Celebrate Taiwanese culture with an all-day festival in the heart of Chatswood. From 11am there’ll be a range of market stalls including delicious Taiwanese foods, as well as plenty of activities including fun games and activities, music and dance performances, glove puppetry and more!

From 4pm activities will also take place on The Concourse including a lantern parade, free entertainment and artwork displays.

Rugby Grand Final

BrothersThe first grade division 2 grand final between Newport and Brothers will take place on the T.G.Millner field in Marsfield. This promises to be a great match with Newport winning on the last two encounters. There is an entry fee of $15 per adult.

The Colts grand final will take place on the same T.G.Millner field with a kick-off at 11:40am. This should be a great match.



Craft Beer Fair

Sample some classic brews, seasonal favourites and special limited editions! The Fair will also feature gourmet food stalls, live music, as well as entertainment and activities for kids. At the Willoughby Hotel.

This iteration of the Willoughby Craft Beer Fair will include 15 brewers from AUS and NZ, which include some of the biggest names and rising stars of the Craft Brewing Scene, plus a wide selection of wines. International restaurateurs from the Willoughby area will be providing a wide range of gourmet food options.

The food and beverage stalls will be accompanied by entertainment for the whole family, including a live band, wine and beer food matching seminars hosted by Australia’s leading brewers and wine makers, and a huge selection of kid’s activities and playzones!
