Football Round-up – July 6th

Some good games as we head towards the end of the season

So what happened this week in the Premier League? Here’s our round-up of the football action over the weekend in the Premier League.

This is the second follow-up article to the this article we wrote two weeks prior, predicting the end of season result.

Willoughby Dalleys

We predicted a win against Lindfield and win they did. It was a six goal jamboree with four to Willoughby and two to Lindfield. Next week they are away to Mt Colah and we’re predicting a win on the road.

North Sydney United

We predicted a win at Tunks Park against Kissing Point and win they did. But as Kissing Point had a mid-week match against Lindfield which they won, the point gap remains equal at the end of the weekend. The match report is here.

Next week, North Sydney are away to Chatswood Rangers and I’m predicting a draw because both these teams are strong teams who will give no quarter.

Kissing Point

Kissing Point played two matches this week. A mid-week match against Lindfield where KP won 3:1, plus their usual Saturday game against North Sydney where they lost. That moves them three points up the table, but as they lost to North Sydney this week who also move three points up the table, no ground was gained on the table. The match report is here.

Next week Kissing Point play Berowra at home and we’re predicting a win.

Chatswood Rangers

We predicted a win away to West Pymble and we were wrong. Chatswood lost 1:0 on Norman Griffiths oval. That means a gap has formed between them and Kissing Point. Kissing Point was ahead last week, but only on goal difference. Now KP move three points clear.

Lindfield

Another week that Lindfield will probably rather forget. They played Kissing Point away mid-week and lost 3:1 then they travelled to Willoughby Dalleys where they lost 4:2. As Berowra drew, the gap between five and six on the ladder has narrowed and if Berowra win next week and Lindfield loose, Berowra will move ahead on goal difference.

Lindfield play Knox next week under lights at Charles Bean and we’re predicting a win for the home side but with such a mixed season at Lindfield it’s really anybody’s guess.

Berowra

Berowra played under lights at the home ground in a scoreless thriller against local rivals Mt Colah. We predicted a draw and a draw it was. The match report is here

Next week Berowra are away to Kissing Point and we’re predicting a loss to the third placed team on the table.

Mt Colah

Mt Colah played under lights at Berowra Oval in a scoreless thriller. We predicted a draw and it was. The match report is here

Next week Mt Colah is at home but they are up against the league leaders Willoughby Dalleys. We’re predicting a loss.

West Pymble

West Pymble had a good week beating Chatswood Rangers. We had predicted a loss and were wrong, which means West Pymble leapfrog Mt Colah on the ladder splitting the Berowra/Mt Colah rivals.

Next week West Pymble takes on Lane Cove at Pottery Green and we’re expecting honours to be shared.

Lane Cove

Lane Cove battled Knox in the match at the bottom of the table. We predicted honours to be shared, and they were with a 1:1 draw. Lane Cove and Mt Colah are one spot of the bottom of the division with Mt Colah ahead on goal difference.

Next week Lane Cove and West Pymble battle each other in what should be a well matched contest. We’re predicting honours to be shared.

Knox

We predicted a draw for Knox against Lane Cove and we were right. Knox have had a tough first season in the Premier League with only one win but they now have four draws to their name, which shows they have the ability on the day.

Next week Knox travel to Lindfield and play on Charles Bean oval where we’re predicting a loss.

Next week there are some good matches. Chatswood vs North Sydney should see the big men of soccer clash. Lane Cove vs West Pymble should see these two teams sort out honours on the table and Lindfield vs Knox is always a good match to watch under lights.
