Launch of North Turramurra Walking Group

Seniors, stay fit and active with a new walking group!

Ku-ring-gai Council and the Heart Foundation are proud to announce a new free walking group for the over 60s in North Turramurra.

Walking groups are free and are a great way for seniors to have fun, make friends and look after your health.

Walking also helps you manage weight, lower blood pressure or cholesterol and reduces risk of heart attack.

The new walking group will launch on Tuesday November 11 at 9am with a walk from Samuel King Oval followed by a morning tea. Walks will continue on a weekly basis.

The North Turramurra Walking Group is the third walking group for older residents set up by Ku-ring-gai Council, with walks also taking place weekly in Turramurra from Karuah Park Sportsground and in Gordon from Gordon Uniting Church.

Heart Foundation Walking is Australia’s largest free walking group network with over 20,000 participants taking part in the program and over 1000 walking groups to choose from across Australia.
