Any café that has “The Hangover” as the first item on its menu has to be a little bit special and that’s what we found at Munch Deli Café in West Pymble. The café sits at the beginning of a neat set of shops  adjacent to a large car park, so access is a breeze.

The menu was a two-sided affair with the first side dedicated to breakfasts and the reverse more general eating. There was a good range of burgers and main meals, although there didn’t appear to be any gluten free options.

“The Hangover” consists of 2 eggs, crispy bacon, hash brown, chorizo sausage, tomato and sour dough bread. If you had a hangover, it would be perfect. We opted for the fish and chips . Our order was taken politely and efficiently. Coffees arrived quickly and were good looking with a bit of a barista flourish in the milk of my cappuccino. Munch Deli Café use Di Gabriel Passion beans for their coffee, which makes a strong, slightly bitter brew.  The fish and chips arrived reasonable quickly and it was served on one of those ubiquitous boards, which are very popular at the moment. Service was prompt and friendly.. The décor was simple.

The café won the Better Business Awards, People’s Choice Award – 2012, which means they don’t just do a good job serving food, they also manage their business in a sustainable way as well.
