Nominations are closing soon for the Seniors’ Mayoral Awards 2015, where Council recognises the outstanding work of an individual or group who have gone above and beyond to give back to the local community. Nominations close Monday February 9.
If you know an individual or group that has excelled in any of the categories below, why not give them the recognition they deserve and nominate them?
- Category one: Outstanding individuals – An older person who demonstrates an outstanding contribution to the Ku-ring-gai community.
- Category two: A community service group that is providing innovative support to senior citizens.

“The Seniors’ Mayoral Awards are a wonderful opportunity to publicly honour some of Ku-ring-gai’s most outstanding citizens and local organisations that make a difference to the lives of others in our community,” said Ku-ring-gai Council Mayor Jennifer Anderson.
“If you know someone who inspires you, I encourage you to nominate them for an award – it’s a very special way of saying ‘thank you’,” she said.
The Seniors’ Mayoral Award is presented at a concert during the Ku-ring-gai Seniors’ Festival which is held in March every year. The Ku-ring-gai Seniors’ Festival celebrates everything that’s great about being an older resident in Ku-ring-gai, including living life to the fullest, celebrating achievements and relationships as well as highlighting how to navigate through life’s new challenges.
