Ku-ring-gai council has announced that Susie Maroney will be their ambassador at their Australia Day Celebrations in Bicentennial Park.
Marathon swimmer Susie Maroney will present Ku-ring-gai’s Australia Day Award winners with special gifts at Bicentennial Park West Pymble.
Following the presentation and a citizenship ceremony for 120 new citizens, a free concert is on at the park from 5.30pm to 9pm.
Appearing in the concert are acclaimed Aboriginal performers Descendance, ABC 4 Kids performers Lah Lah’s Big Live Band, Tamworth Country Music Award finalists Simply Bushed, plus Stephanie Jansen Band and The Dave White Australian Anthem Experience.
The concert will be followed by a spectacular fireworks finale by Foti Fireworks, who organised the New Year’s Eve firework display on Sydney Harbour.
Also on offer are multicultural food stalls and plenty of fun activities for the kids including face painting and amusement rides.
Concertgoers are urged to catch the free shuttle bus from Gordon station as there will be no parking on the day from 1pm at Bicentennial Park due to the large crowds expected. Buses will be leaving the station from 2.20pm onwards.
